Cape Winelands, Stellenbosch
Anura Racquet Club
Where padel meets wine in the Cape Winelands: two courts, vineyard views, wine tasting and a court-side bistro.

What to expect
If you're looking for something a little different to add to your Cape Town itinerary, put Anura Racquet Club on your list. Tucked away among the vineyards at Anura Vineyards in the Cape Winelands, it's one of those places that makes you want to slow down and enjoy the whole day rather than simply stop by for an activity.
And yes, you can play padel here. Anura has two padel courts and a squash court, surrounded by the beautiful Stellenbosch winelands. What we loved about the concept is that it doesn't feel like a typical urban sports club. You're playing with vineyards and mountain scenery around you, which makes the whole thing feel like a day out rather than just a workout.
Because this is a vineyard, wine tasting is naturally part of the experience. The Anura Wine Tasting Centre sits on the foothills of the Simonsberg Mountains, overlooking vineyards, ponds and fynbos. You can taste a selection of Anura and Frog Hill wines with locally produced cheeses, and pair them with grazing boards of charcuterie, breads and preserves.
And if you're not ready to leave after your game or your tasting, you don't have to. The court-side restaurant overlooks the vineyards with a seasonal, bistro-style menu, built for exactly the kind of relaxed afternoon where you play, eat, have a drink and simply enjoy being there.

Good for
Globetrot & Gather says
If you're planning a Cape Town trip and want more than the usual tourist spots, make Anura a day trip rather than a quick stop. Book a padel session, grab lunch, do a wine tasting and give yourself time to actually enjoy the surroundings. Because sometimes the best travel experiences aren't about ticking things off a list. They're about finding a beautiful place, doing something fun and staying a little longer than you planned. Anura is definitely one for the Globetrot & Gather list.
